Install & use

Let AI help you install

Connect the device and give AI the detection results together with this firmware information.

1

Confirm the device and connect USB

USB chip information cannot distinguish monochrome from four-color screens. Confirm the model first.

Connect USB and detect the device

Read the chip and capacity first, so AI needs fewer follow-up questions.

Detection may restart the device into download mode. It does not flash firmware; you still need to confirm the display model.

Not detected yet. You can also copy the task first and ask AI to help connect.

2

Give the installation task to AI

Codex on your computer can install dependencies and run programs locally.

What AI will do next

Check compatibility → Prepare firmware and a full backup → Assist with local installation → Verify first run

After copying, start a new chat in Codex on your computer and paste the task.

NOTE4C · ESP-IDF 6.0 · Busy status requires a separate Python bridge

  1. Choose the features you need

Gallery and weather are device-side modules. Live busy status additionally requires a Python bridge. Choose your use case first, then prepare the required services and account settings.

  2. Back up and confirm the four-color panel

Save a complete Flash backup, prepare ESP-IDF 6.0 following the repository, and select the SSD2683 BWRY four-color panel. Images with different panel configurations are not interchangeable.

  3. Install and connect the service

Install the firmware using upstream build and flashing instructions. For busy status, also deploy the bridge and configure the device address. This site does not provide a direct installer for the project.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to run a server?

Gallery image transfer is provided directly by the device. Live busy status depends on the bridge; without it, that module has no live data.

Can I flash any .bin file from Releases directly?

You also need to check the target model, whether the image is merged, write addresses and partition layout. This site has not completed that installation review.
